What is the Atlanta Broadcast Institute, and how long has it been around?
ABI is a private school that began in 1988. It is dedicated to training up-coming professionals in radio and television broadcasting. Can you guarantee me a job when I graduate?
No, we do not guarantee a job for you upon graduation -- no one can. Graduates of our program do, however, have the opportunity to work hand in hand with our Director of Placement Services. We will help find out who's hiring, help you with your resumes and audition tapes, show you how to package yourself, and give you all the information you need to have a successful interview. Job inquiries are received and processed on a weekly basis coming from station managers and program directors seeking graduates to fill vacancies on their staffs. We also maintain an active database of Intern and Career Opportunites. Our last four graduating classes celebrated 100 percent job placement with the help of our Director of Placement Services.

Are internships available?
Yes. Many stations look to ABI for well-trained interns. Qualified current students will receive assistance in locating and acquiring internship opportunities. Many broadcasters in the area will come to ABI before approaching other broadcast schools, knowing that ABI candidates are much better prepared.

How do I enroll?
The first step would be to contact the school to schedule an over the phone interview with admissions. Your interview will provide answers to all your questions about the school. Once an interview has been completed, step two would be an invitation to the school for further orientation and testing. At the school you will have the opportunity to tour the facilities and meet with our professional instructors. After your orientation and testing, you will be provided an opportunity to sit down with an Admissions Counselor to ask any additional questions and discuss options for enrollment. Open Houses are a great source of information on life at ABI and of course are offered with no obligation.

How long is the course?
It takes 8 weeks to complete the day course. Day classes are in session from Monday through Thursday from 10:00am until 2pm. It takes 16 weeks to complete the evening course. Evening courses are in session from 6:30pm until 10:30pm two nights per week.

How much does the course cost?
